Projects in QATAR

• Development of comprehensive procedures to improve the methods used in the State of Qatar for the characterization and design of asphalt mixture; asphalt pavement analysis and design; appropriate quality management and contractual procedures; and pavement evaluation techniques. These procedures consider the availability of materials, the climate, work force (Ashghal, contractors and consultants) experience, environmental regulations, and governmental policies in Qatar.

• Forensic evaluation of road performance and failures using non-destructive evaluation methods (FWD, GPR), mechanistic-empirical analysis of design, review of specifications, review of mixture design, and traffic load analysis

• Advanced analysis of pavement response and performance using finite element modeling

• Development of quality system for testing laboratories according to ISO and AASHTO certification and accreditation procedures

• Development of Quality Control procedures for binder storage, handling and mixing

• Training courses on QA/QC systems, field management of asphalt pavement construction, asphalt mixture design, and pavement analysis and design
